A complimentary therapy can be helpful in relieving anxiety and letting go of stress. It can help with alleviating fatigue and associated symptoms. We can support you both physically and emotionally with massage and reflexology, helping you manage stress and anxiety, improving sleep and managing pain. This in turn helps reduce chronic inflammation, improves immunity and repairs pathways. Reflexology Lymph Drainage is also very beneficial in reducing Lymphoedema associated with cancer symptoms. Length of treatment and type of treatment will be discussed in a telephone consultation and can take place in clinic or in your own home.
Oncology Massage is now widely used as a complementary treatment for cancer. In this sense, massage is not used as a treatment for cancer, such as chemotherapy or surgery would, but as a method of helping with the symptoms of cancer and the side effects of treatment. It can help to ease pain, anxiety, and fatigue. Gentle massage is tolerated by most people with cancer, and is sufficient to release "endorphins," the "feel good" chemicals released by the brain that can reduce pain. Emotionally, massage may help people relax, provide a distracting experience that takes the mind off of pain and fear, and reduce anxiety and sometimes, depression. It’s important to talk with your oncologist before beginning Massage Therapy or Reflexology, especially if you have had recent surgery or are being treated with chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
